Cute robe is a must/ Essential Oils/ the best sleepy tea
Getting a full, good night’s sleep feels like it’s hard to come by these days. More often than not, I find myself waking up and feeling exhausted throughout the day- and I’m definitely not the only one. And unfortunately, I’m guilty of medicating that exhaustion with extra-large iced coffees. Oops ;)
So I’ve been trying to change my routine at night. One of the main reasons we struggle with sleeping well is that we don’t set ourselves up for success pre-pillow time.
What a weekend!
If you follow me on Snapchat (@melissa_ann7) or on Instagram, you saw that I was all over the place celebrating my birthday weekend.
My parents took me out to lunch to P.F. Chang’s on Friday (I live for the Dynamite shrimp!).
Carl and I explored Coronado all day Saturday and met friends in Encinitas at night for bar hopping. If you are ever in San Diego, I highly recommend checking out both areas! I never realized how big (and insanely beautiful!) Coronado is- perfect for an all day date.
Happy Sunday loves!
Today I wanted to share a quick roundup of the makeup I used for my wedding day!
I debated hiring a makeup artist of course. I did hire a mobile hairstylist to do my hair because I’m absolutely awful at styling my hair in anything other than a messy bun or half ponytail. She did a fabulous job, and anyone who can tame this mane is a magician in my eyes.
As far as makeup, I decided against hiring a professional for two major reasons. First, makeup is a passion of mine, and as such I’m extremely particular about how mine looks. The last few events where I had my makeup done professionally I really didn’t love. The artists, while talented, didn’t use colors or techniques that I personally felt didn’t complement my features. Second, by electing to do my makeup on my own, I used the budget I would have spent on an artist to purchase high-quality makeup to do myself. This meant that the money would go much further, since I can continue to use these products post-wedding day.
