3 Ways: Casual Oversized Cardigan

Sweater weather is here! But as much as I love a good fall weather sweater, I’m more of a fan of fall cardigans. The comfier and more oversized the better, in my opinion. It just feels like wrapping yourself in a comfy but stylish blanket. I wear mine to death and am definitely on the hunt for some new ones for this season.

Cardigans are also great because they are so versatile! So today I’m styling one of my favorite die-hard cardigans from Forever 21 in 3 casual styles.

Top/Leggings/Bag/Shoes

This is my weekend errand-running uniform for chilly days. Grocery shopping, quick coffee run, farmer’s market- you name it.  I’m a sucker for all-black, especially in the fall, and I love having this creamy neutral oversized cardigan to pull it all together. This outfit is always on repeat because it’s lazy girl chic at it’s finest- somewhat pulled together but oh-so comfy! I got this t-shirt from Target and I swear I’m going to go back and buy 3 more in assorted colors- it’s so soft!

Dress/Bag/Shoes (Similar)

This look is perfect for us California girls who have to deal with half cool/half still-warm days. This dress is so versatile and comfortable and it’s the perfect length to wrap up in the cardigan. I’ve also dressed it up with a statement necklace and nicer heels. Short booties elevate this to a look you can wear meeting friends for lunch or on a day date.

Obsessively Grateful

Happy Monday!

This past weekend, I’ve been reflecting a lot on the power of positivity and gratitude in my life. I’ve always been a person who naturally looks on the bright side of things, whether things were going great or they were really crappy. I’m coming to realize what a gift that is, even though at times I can get caught up in self-pity and complaining, about big and little things..

But what good does that do? None. Who am I helping by complaining? No one. How is having a pity party for one going to help my situation? Not at all.

FriYAY, am I right?

This week feels like it flew! I can’t believe we’re almost done with 2016. So crazy!

The temperatures have been cooling off here in San Diego, which is amaziiiing since I’ve been dying to wear all my fall outfits. It’s hard to enjoy your Starbucks red cup while it’s 90 degrees outside, trust me.

Birthday Recap

What a weekend!

If you follow me on Snapchat (@melissa_ann7) or on Instagram, you saw that I was all over the place celebrating my birthday weekend.

My parents took me out to lunch  to P.F. Chang’s on Friday (I live for the Dynamite shrimp!).

Carl and I explored Coronado all day Saturday and met friends in Encinitas at night for bar hopping. If you are ever in San Diego, I highly recommend checking out both areas! I never realized how big (and insanely beautiful!) Coronado is- perfect for an all day date.

Travel Tips

Despite the annoying heat wave hitting us here in San Diego, holiday season is in full swing! Thanksgiving is 2 weeks away, Christmas is 6 and Starbucks has officially unleashed Red Cup season. If that doesn’t put you in the holiday spirit, then I don’t know what will.

Though I’m lucky enough to have family within driving distance, I’ve spent my fair share of time doing long distance traveling. From flying and driving across country over my four years in college and a semester of travel abroad in Europe, I’ve clocked in plenty of far travel. By no means have I totally mastered the travel game (i.e. the time I forgot my ID at home and didn’t realize it until I was in the security line at the airport… yikes), here are a few of my tips and tricks for all you babes who are logging some major travel miles this holiday season.
