Summertime means vacation (hopefully!) and with that, travel! If you aren’t properly prepared, an uncomfortable flight can set even the most exciting trip off on a sour note. And no one wants that, right?
Between going to college out of state for four years and traveling abroad for a semester, I’ve definitely picked up tips and tricks to make airport travel a little more relaxing (well, as relaxing as it can be).
Two weeks ago Carl and I traveled back to Ohio to be in my friend’s wedding and we spent Memorial Day Weekend road tripping up to San Francisco. Regardless of whether you’re traveling by plane or car, there are a few essentials that are a must.
With the warmer sunshine coming, spring break and vacations are right around the corner, who doesn’t have a break on their mind? I’ve been doing some spring re-arranging and decided to decorate this little corner of the house with fun prints and pieces (adult spring break haha) and thought a it would be fun to do a post on vacationing in San Diego!

With a variety of different neighborhoods all with their own vibes, Instagram-worthy photo ops, killer beach views and more, San Diego is the ideal California vacation spot. Whether you’re an avid outdoor adventurer, a foodie or just eager to cross well-known spots off your bucket list, there’s something for everyone. If you’re planning a trip down the coast, check out my five must-see stops!
If you have the time, head to downtown and hop on the ferry across the ocean to Coronado. After being a Southern California native for my entire life, I finally visited for the first time for my birthday last year. Coronado is an absolute blast if you have a day to enjoy it. From the collection of commercial and local businesses that line the streets to the quaint homes and over bounding greenery, it feels like a summer getaway town.
Must See: The iconic Hotel Del Coronado! There’s something to do here year round, even if you don’t book a stay. The pristine beaches that make up the perimeter of the hotel are perfect to drink, lunch, bike ride and tan. This makes a great stop for both family fun days and romantic getaways.
Bachelorette weekend recap part 2! I just want to wrap up the end of the bachelorette recaps with one of my fave parts of the weekend- BRUNCH. (duh) Seriously guys, brunch warranted a post all on its own.
We actually had no idea where we were going to brunch when we were in Palm Desert, but we had dinner at a delicious sushi place and our waiter recommended Pinocchio’s, which apparently is crazy popular and well-known for not playing around when it comes to brunch.
cheers to May and better weather!
It’s so nice to finally see some sunshine again- and summer could not come quick enough.
it’s been quite a while!
well, here’s a little catch-up on what’s been going on with me.
I am a little over month into my study abroad semester here in Austria. This experience has been absolutely remarkable in more ways than one, and I am so grateful for this opportunity.
Unfortunately, the internet connection here has been less than desirable. Not a huge problem, but obviously has caused significant lag in my posts.
But I promise, I will work on posting more regularly! I will do a more in-depth post later, but for now, here are some pictures from some of my travels so far!
