Three Christmas Event Outfits

It’s the most wonderful (and busy!) time of the year! And a majority of the time, that business sets in weeks before Christmas. Office parties, family get-together, lunches, etc.-  it always seems like there are more events than days during the holiday season!

Which all comes down to one question every time- what to wear?! Some events are more casual with your girls or family, while others require a little more glitz and glam. No matter where you’re headed these last few weeks of December, these three looks will definitely work!

Brunch with the girls

If you’re meeting up with the girls to clink mimosa glasses and exchange little gift, this cozy-cute look is perfect. The oversized sweater is so soft and cozy, and I love the little scallop detail at the bottom!

Family Gathering

Christmas Eve is usually a low-key event in terms of dress for my family, so I’m always going for casual festive in my outfit choices. This look is perfect because it uses pieces you probably already have and looks pulled together.

Christmas Gift Guide: Shop Small Edition

Can you believe Thanksgiving week is upon us?! I swear, it feels like it’ll be New Year’s Eve in about five minutes these days.

I’m at that point of trying to juggle Thanksgiving dinner prep with Christmas shopping list prep in anticipation of the famed Black Friday/Small Business Saturday/Cyber Monday trifecta.

One of my favorite things about living in Temecula is the amount of small businesses in our area- which is why I was so excited to see my favorite businesses and city hall with stickers promoting Small Business Saturday this weekend!

I feel like SBS is often left out when considering holiday shopping, so I wanted to take the opportunity to use my first gift guide of the season to highlight just a handful of the amazing small businesses this area has to offer!

  1. Hollyhocks Boutique

This is one of my absolute fave shops in the area! There are so many fun gift ideas, from purse accessories to Pinterest-worthy home decor, kids and more! They also carry popular brands like The Giving Keys, Grace And Lace, etc. I will definitely be picking up some stocking stuffers this weekend from Hollyhocks!

2. Faithful Scents

I am a huge fan of candles- they’re honestly one of my favorite gifts to give and receive. That being said, I love that these candles are so unique and stand in contrast to the usual Bath & Body Works candles that people give out. The scents are so unique and the packaging is so beautifully simple.

3. Savage Sips

For all the coffee/wine drinkers on your Christmas list! I think these cups are so sassy and fun- a great way to show off your personality in the office or on the go. You can also get apparel with the same sayings, but I’m all about the drinkware. I also am just obsessed with the fact that the owner styles her Instagram pics in the cutest way!

4. Coffee Shops

Again for coffee fans- you can never go wrong with a gift card (or even some cool merch) from one of the many fantastical local coffee shops in town. My personal favorites are Bean Coffee (for someone who loves classic drinks and spending time in the cutest shop), The Press Espresso (for the adventurous and serious coffee connoisseurs) and East Coffee (their mugs are so cute!).

Blogger Brunch with The Local Bazaar

I’m so excited to share today’s post with you guys! I attended my first blogger event yesterday in San Diego. It was a Blogger Brunch hosted by The Local Bazaar and There San Diego to celebrate and share the amazing vendors that will be featured at The Local Holiday Bazaar.

Being that this was my first event, I really didn’t know what to expect, but I had the best time! There was a gorgeous table spread of delicious San Diego local restaurants/bakeries like Mendocino Farms, Nomad Donuts and Naked Cake Farm. Everything looked and tasted incredible. I met so many bloggers- some that I followed already as well as new friends. It blows my mind how much creativity how many different styles there were.

I also tried Oh Juice! for the first time and loved it! I had never heard of the brand before but I will definitely be a return customer. I had the Autumn Sun juice and it was so good. At first, I wasn’t sure if I’d like it because of the ginger. I tend to find it to be to overpowering when it’s added to juice, but this one had just enough apple in it that it was perfect- definitely recommend! They are currently located in Carlsbad as well as in assorted farmer’s markets and they will be opening a new Encinitas location soon!

3 Ways: Casual Oversized Cardigan

Sweater weather is here! But as much as I love a good fall weather sweater, I’m more of a fan of fall cardigans. The comfier and more oversized the better, in my opinion. It just feels like wrapping yourself in a comfy but stylish blanket. I wear mine to death and am definitely on the hunt for some new ones for this season.

Cardigans are also great because they are so versatile! So today I’m styling one of my favorite die-hard cardigans from Forever 21 in 3 casual styles.

#1

Top/Leggings/Bag/Shoes

This is my weekend errand-running uniform for chilly days. Grocery shopping, quick coffee run, farmer’s market- you name it.  I’m a sucker for all-black, especially in the fall, and I love having this creamy neutral oversized cardigan to pull it all together. This outfit is always on repeat because it’s lazy girl chic at it’s finest- somewhat pulled together but oh-so comfy! I got this t-shirt from Target and I swear I’m going to go back and buy 3 more in assorted colors- it’s so soft!

#2

Dress/Bag/Shoes (Similar)

This look is perfect for us California girls who have to deal with half cool/half still-warm days. This dress is so versatile and comfortable and it’s the perfect length to wrap up in the cardigan. I’ve also dressed it up with a statement necklace and nicer heels. Short booties elevate this to a look you can wear meeting friends for lunch or on a day date.

Fall Transition

Happy happy Monday!

I am so excited for fall to hurry up and get here. Seeing my favorite bloggers + stores starting to bring out the fall trends has me dying for the weather to drop 25 degrees.

Unfortunately, we’re in that weird time of the year here in California where it’s cool and breezy up until about noon, and then it warms up in the afternoon.

So today I’m sharing my favorite transitional piece- long sleeved rompers!

They’re perfect for this time of year because they’re super versatile and such an easy look to throw together. They can be dressed up with wedges or booties and a statement necklace or dressed down with a pair of flats and scarves.

Rompers are also insanely comfy, so you won’t feel uncomfortable hot when the day heats up. I also love to throw a chunky cardigan over my romper in the morning- so cozy! I prefer my rompers that have sleeves because I find them to be more comfortable and if it’s not cold enough to require a full cardigan, the sleeve provides some coverage.
