Travel Essentials

 denim shirt/ striped top (similar)/sunglasses/leggings (I’m obsessed!)/ sneakers

Summertime means vacation (hopefully!) and with that, travel! If you aren’t properly prepared, an uncomfortable flight can set even the most exciting trip off on a sour note. And no one wants that, right?

Between going to college out of state for four years and traveling abroad for a semester, I’ve definitely picked up tips and tricks to make airport travel a little more relaxing (well, as relaxing as it can be).

Two weeks ago Carl and I traveled back to Ohio to be in my friend’s wedding and we spent Memorial Day Weekend road tripping up to San Francisco. Regardless of whether you’re traveling by plane or car, there are a few essentials that are a must.

O N E.  Oversized Tote- Kate Spade
A definite must- extra points if it has pockets inside to organize! I fill mine up with snacks, books, phone + headphones, mobile charger, tissues… you get the idea.  I’ve always been a big tote bag kind of girl anyways so having an oversized bag helps me to make sure I don’t forget anything I might need on the go!

T W O.  Big Sunglasses- Quay
These sunglasses are my newest obsession! Mirrored sunnies are major must-haves for summer and they’re the perfect shield while traveling makeup-free (also a definite must).

T H R E E.  Slouchy Sweater – GAP
I am always cold (seriously- always) so I always try to carry a sweater around with me, especially if I’ll be in a plane or in the car. The downside of a husband who keeps the AC cranked 24/7. Baggy, comfy cardigans like this one are ideal because they make a chic, cozy blanket to nap in!

F O U R.  Travel Cosmetic Bag – Charlotte Tilbury
Like I said before, if I’m traveling a long distance I’ll almost always go makeup-free. But I like to keep a travel makeup bag on hand with a few essentials like micellar water, tinted CC cream and lipstick. I hate that gross “travel feeling” when I de-plane or get out of the car so I do a quick facial wipedown with some micellar water and pop on a few basics in case I need to get somewhere quickly.

What are your travel must-haves?
