There’s really nothing worse than having mid-afternoon snack craving. Especially if you’re like me and the hanger is toooooo real (ask Carl anytime, he’ll attest to that). Keeping snacks in your purse at all times is a must. We’ve all been told that snacking between meals is important (especially if you’re looking to lose weight), but not all snacks are equal.
You always want to make sure that you’re snacking on treats that aren’t too high in fat or sugar- it’s not only unhealthy, but also can cause you to have a mid-workday crash if you binge on bad bites! These are a few of the snacks I like to keep in my (probably too oversized) bag!
These bars are a major lifesaver when you’re running out the door in the morning! They’re the perfect size for breakfast on the go and pack major flavor. And more importantly, there’s no artificial crap. Each bar literally lists its ingredients on the wrapper, which I love. My faves are the chocolate sea salt and chocolate coconut (can you sense a theme here?).
Almonds are my FAVE. They are so tasty and full of antioxidants, protein, Vitamin C and more. They also have tons of fiber and Vitamin E, which makes them filling AND good for your skin. I usually throw a handful in a Baggie into my purse and snack on them post-lunch.
Yes and yes. I normally am not a huge fan of popcorn, but this Boom Chicka Pop is the best I’ve ever had. It tastes amazing (and 35 calories a cup?!) and is made with whole grain energy, contains no GMOs and is gluten free. And if my sweet tooth kicks in, I go for the kettle corn.
My all time fave snack, especially in the warmer months! A good apple is crisp, juicy, filling and hits the spot almost every time. I slice my apples at home using this handy tool and pop them in a baggie and into my purse. I usually try to grab a packet of almond or raw nut butter and squeeze it on as I eat. SO good!
