Happy National Margarita (AKA happiness) Day!
Anyone who knows me knows I love a good marg any night of the week. Which makes today a great day in my books.
But as much as I love to drink ’em, I don’t love the way they always make me feel after. The last thing a girl wants is to wake up from a night of drinking feeling bloated, am I right? Regular margaritas are full of sugar and salt that can leave you feeling major regret when the fun is over. The solution- try a skinny margarita!
- 5 ounces tequila
- 5 ounces freshly squeezed citrus juice, orange, blood orange, tangerine, satsuma, grapefruit
- 3 ounces lime juice
- 2 teaspoons agave nectar
- splash of sparkling water
Run a lime wedge around the rim and lightly salt. (Personally, I like to only salt half the rim). Then mix everything in a cocktail shaker and strain over ice. Add a splash of sparkling water and cheers!
