I don’t know about you guys, but I feel like I’ve been crushing it so far this year (.. all nine days of it haha).
Either way, my productivity, creativity- all that jazz- have been at a high and I’m loving it. When I have these major bouts of hustle, I like to make sure I’m maximizing on it and try to be judicious of my time to consciously make decisions to feed into that. (More on that in this post!).
One thing I love is to do to enhance my day is listen to podcasts. Don’t get me wrong – I’m an avid Spotify gal and can be found blasting the tunes in the office or the gym. But sometimes I like to switch it up and listen to podcasts. I play them in the car on my drive into work in the morning, while I’m doing my makeup, cleaning the house, etc. Some of my faves are definitely just entertaining and good for a laugh, but I also really try to listen to shows that are educational and provide some value.
The Skinny Confidential Him & Her
I actually got into podcasts because of Lauryn- avid TSC reader over here! She and her husband Michael’s is one of my absolute faves! They are hysterical to listen to and really good about balancing entertainment with strong business-minded content that makes you think and leaves you inspired. Plus, Carl thinks Michael is great so this is one we can listen to together.
The ultimate girl gang– Jac Vanek, Becca Tobin and Keltie Knight. This is definitely more of a fun one that makes me feel like I’m sitting in on a coffee date with girlfriends. They have a lot of different guests and are just overall fun to listen to to keep up with pop culture happenings.
The Bitch Bible
Definitely the sassiest of the podcast shows. Jackie Schimmel (the host) really speaks her mind (probs don’t listen with kids nearby or at work!) but I’m obsessed. This is for sure my guilty pleasure show.
NPR Hourly News
Such a great little bite of a podcast. This 5 minute show pops up every hour with the top national and international news headlines for that time. This is usually the first thing I listen to when I’m getting ready in the morning. I’ll listen to it around lunch and on the way home from work as well. It ‘s a great way to stay in tune with what’s going on when you’re on the go!
My newest addition. Gary Vaynerchuk is a phenomenal businessman, entrepreneur and speaker. His shows are jam-packed with life and business advice that have really changed the way I approach a multitude of things and projects. I highly recommend his show if you are a creative, an entrepreneur or just someone interested in making the most with their life.
If you have an iPhone , you can use the podcast app that comes with the phone to save all your faves. I like that it always notifies me when there are new episodes to listen to and it’s easy to use (just make sure you clear out old eps to save on space!). You can also use the PodcastOne app if you want for most of these.
I’m always looking for more to add to my list!! Let me know which podcasts you’re obsessed with so I can take a listen!
